First because I love sports and think their impact in every aspect of life should be analyzed. Secondly because of the first sentence; “The epic moments of sport are most memorably captured by still photography” (142).

Images inundate us. They literally are everywhere—everything we see is an image. We see images of the people around us and are influenced by what they see.

I think technology is a huge factor is why images have become more and more important in society. If you think back to Roman times, they had pictures and depictions but no real images that accurately represented the world as we see it.Because we have this technology, everyone has an image associated with them—their picture.

The Internet is Changing Us

The first two chapters of Brian Carroll’s text really caught my attention with some very bold statements. Almost everyone participates in digital communication, and it’s not a secret that lifestyles are adapting. Specifically in the first chapter, Carroll writes about how writing has adapted for online. It’s less about the content, more about the speed. More about eye-catching titles, less about in-depth coverage.
